Yesterday, I walked around the city, through the Balai Kota street, zero kilometer of the city, through the Merdeka Field (it was called the Esplanade) in the shady of Trembesi tree. Watching the main Post Office, the Neo Classic-colonialist concept building which faced the Nien Huys fountain.
Too bad, it was off at the time.
The I walked to the Hanging Bridge (Titi Gantung). It wasn't hanging after all, it is a connecting bridge that runs through the railway.

from this Hanging Bridge, we can see the big beautiful Buddhist Vihara, I wanna go there but not sure whether I allowed to enter it.
Then I walked to the Kesawan area which is not far away from there. I walked to an antique-chinese-house. The Tjong A Fie's Mansion.
Tjong A Fie (1860-1921) also known as Tjong Fung Nam was a big business man, a banker, and a Major. A socialite closed to the Royal family of Sultan Deli, Makmun Al Rasyid and the Dutch Government’s officers in Medan at his time. In 1911, Tjong A Fie was inaugurated as Tionghoa Captain (Majoor der Chineezen) as a leader of the Tionghoa community di Medan replacing his brother Tjong Yong Hian. Tjong A Fie died in Medan on February 4th, 1921.
His mansion is a very well-known tourism spot in Medan, which took place in Jl. Jend. Ahmad Yani No. 105. This area also called as Kesawan. The mansion of the late Major Tjong A Fie was built in 1895, in an area around 8,000 m² of land, the building consist of two storeys holding over 35 rooms.
He lived there with his third wife Lim Koei Yap from Timbang, Langkat, Binjai.
It was a very awesome visit I had there.
